Allow us to introduce our brand’s fourth collection, entitled Mata. The Mata bag takes inspiration from the iconic Dobbéh earrings (also called Jaaro Dibbei in Toucouleur). These crescent-shaped earrings made out of wire and enveloped in gold and bright red thread were traditionally made iconic by Fulani, Songhai and other women across the Sahel.
The NILHANE Mata bag is a medium-sized bucket bag, which is roomy enough to carry all of your essentials, while remaining chic and elegant. The top handle is draped in vibrant red leather on the sides, reminiscent of the red thread on the Dobbéh earrings. The handbag is closed by an inner clasp and pulled in by a leather string, for added security. The Mata bag is designed in Mali, made of high-quality leather, and manufactured by hand in Spain.
