Allow us to introduce our brand’s first collection, entitled “Coumba”. The Coumba bag takes inspiration from a quintessential part of Fulani culture and fashion: the kwottone earring. Also familiarly known as the Fulani earring, kwottone is traditionally made of bronze, silver or gold, which is melted down and tapped out while being twisted – creating its famous intricate twisted rope appearance. Fulani women adorn themselves with these earrings during important milestones and ceremonies, and they are passed down for generations. The NILHANE Coumba bag has a half-moon shape, with a double top flap that protrudes gracefully from the body of the bag. The handle is rigid and the bag opens with a top zipper. The Coumba bag is made entirely of high-quality grained leather.
