Introducing the Aliya collection, honoring one of the most beloved African fabrics.  Pagne Tissé, or “Dali fini”, as it’s called in Mali, is a cotton and silk blend cloth (sometimes also mixed with linen), woven in colorful horizontal bands or other motifs.

You can find this intricate cloth – also known as kente cloth in Ghana, pagne baoulé in Cote d’Ivoire and Faso Danfini in Burkina Faso – across West Africa, beautifully worn during all types of ceremonies.

The Aliya is a square bag delicately constructed using horizontal leather bands, reminiscent of the motifs of the colorful Dali Fini fabric.  The top handle features five individual leather cords, which represent the silk and cotton thread used by traditional weavers in West Africa.
